Man this has been one hectic and crazy month thus far and there is still 2 weeks left!! OMS!
So to start off the month Isabella got a small ear infection on the 30th of June and i took her in to the Urgent Care clinic, i spotted it just in time and they gave us some drops for her and luckily it went away within a week and we just had to watch her with water around her head just to make sure that it didn't get into her ear and make it worse. Anywho, We celebrated the 4th at home with the kids, of course, and with Donalds' Mom; Jadelynn and her 'Daddy' Joe. It was actually pretty fun, to say the least. Joe came by with a Huge case of fireworks and a whole bunch of the sparklers to add to the set of fireworks that we had already bought for the kids. We stayed out until around 1030 at night or so doing fireworks. Then Isabella started to get really tired and we began to pack everything up, Donalds mom and Joe had to get up early for work the next morning anyways so everything seemed to work out really well.
The Following day was July 5th and my friend Amy's son Calum turned 2 years old and we went to his birthday party. The kids had a blast. It was a Ponyo themed party, she made the birthday cake from scratch and same with the party favor, which was a Ponyo Hand Puppet for the other Toddlers/Kids that attended the party. It was really fun, the Park was totally awesome!! It had a big kids and lil kids playground and in between the playgrounds there was a water area. This water area was one of the coolest that i have ever seen. At first it had these semi-cicular benches that went around the water area and then they had these bendy beams that came out of the cement that had holes in them that spurted out the water. The water also came up out of these holes in the ground also, there were lil buttons all around the water area that all the little kids kept pushing to keep the water going. it was really awesome, and the kids LOVED it to death! Which was good, because it was UBER hot that day and the A/C in the car is still outta freeon, so we are kinda stuck in this damned heat. Ugh....
The Following Monday, the 12th while Skylair was at school my friend Ashley and her daughter Chloe came over and picked Isabella and up for a Park day. We went to Spoto Park in the newer area of Rancho. Ashley even made a Happy 18th Month Birthday Brownie Cake for us and the girls, since they are only 2 weeks apart. It was a really nice afternoon, even if it was only for 2 hours. The girls kept running between the water spritzers, the swings and the other half of the playground. It was really cute, and just plain awesome. It was kinda saddening because they are moving to Utah in a couple of weeks and who knows how long they are going to be out there, it's going to be a couple of years before we get to see the regularly again, unless they come to town for the holidays or something like that; but i have a feeling it'll be hard to get together then because the Holidays are always the worst time of the year to try and get together with friends it seems. Which is kinda sucky, Booo!!!
A couple of days after we saw our friends Ashley and Chloe we went and met with an SSI Lawyer to talk about my case and see if there is anything that we can do. The attorney seemed like a cool guy that was on top of his shit. While we sat there and talked about what i can and can't do and the in's and out's of my health and everything he was able to set up all the paperwork via the Internet to file for our court date in front of a judge and the local representative of SSI. He told us it can take anywhere from 2-6 months before we get to see the judge or anything, which really sucks, but i guess that's how slow the County/Judicial system really is. Supposedly It gets filed online, then goes to the department i filed at, then sent to the decisions board, then to the courts board for a date....and it can sit at each department for like 2 months before it gets passed to the next department, WTF?! At least once it gets to the Judicial Department they'll send us a 20 day notice stating when and where the case will be heard and all of that. So at least we are getting somewhere. If i knew it was going to take this long i would've filed with a lawyer and the courts months ago, not continuously appealing through SSI. Well, i guess you live and you learn. Still it looks like it will be a while until we hear anything about SSI *sigh*....but at least it's moving forward, however slow it is moving....
Thursday the 15th we decided to take Skylair outta school for the day and have a mid day picnic with the McAllister family, and although it was scorching out it was So much Fun!! Finally both families got to completely get together, it's always just Isabella and I with the McAllisters, or Just myself and the kids with Amy and Calum....but Donald and Cliff finally met for reals,we decided on a BBQ at a lil park area off of South Land Park over by the zoo. It was neat, it had a gated park area and a baby pool, but the sucky part was that the darn pool was closed. Evidently it's closed EVERY Thursday, what a random ass day to close; huh?
Friday the 16th Isabella had her 18 Month check up, we had to see a different doctor because her doctor is home with her newborn daughter on maternity leave. At first i was a tad bit apprehensive about the appointment because it was a different doctor, but Dr.Thandi was actually really awesome! I was excited. She didn't get all Huffy Puffy about where Isabella fell on the weight-to-age or height-to-age chart, which led me to breath a huge sigh of relief. I really hate having to deal with uppity docs or dietitians that like to give me attitude about my daughter being FTT or something along those lines. At the check up Isabella weighed in at 16 lbs 2 oz (which is good, because she had gained a couple pounds since her last appointment) and she was 28 1/2 in tall. The doc of course saw her in just her diapie and noticed the uber big tummy, we went over what Isabella can and can't do and what she says as well as what she eats. The doctor was really impressed because she didn't think that Isabella was that much of a bottomless pit!! SCORE!!!!! We also got a couple of books for Sky and Izzy at this appointment which was awesome, and another relief was that Isabella only had to get 1 shot, and that was only because i didn't want her to get it at her last appointment. Her last appointment she was going to get like 4 shots and i told the nurse that was way too much so we spaced a couple of the shots out so Isabella wouldn't become traumatized and paranoid of the Doctors office. Her ear infection is completely gone, and the doctor was pleased that i pay so much attention to medicinal things and that we caught her infection before it really blossomed. Yay Me!!!
Later on Friday evening we went to my dads house for Dinner. We have been hanging around my dad and his new girlfriend Lydia a lot lately and it's been really awesome. Lydia is a couple years younger than my dad but she has a grandson Skys age and she loves playing with him and Isabella. My Sister and her family joined us surprisingly for diner at my dads. The kids had fun, we went and hung around the pool for a bit and then had a Spaghetti dinner that everybody enjoyed. Lydia made the spaghetti a tad different than Donald and I do, so naturally Skylair was alittle put off by it. Gawd, he is such a picky eater sometimes. Anyways, the kids LOVE spending time with then, which is AWESOME!! Because it gives Donald and I a chance to have a break. On Friday the 9th they watched the kids for the first time for a couple of hours while my dad treated us to a dinner of our choosing. We decided to go and try Sapporro Grill, and You DEFINITELY HAVE TO TRY IT!! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!! Not too pricey, but it's not Denny's! LOL. We had so much fun, that was only the 2nd time since Isabella was born that Donald and i got to go out by ourselves without either child. In fact, they love watching the kids so much they are going to watch them again this Friday while we go to my Best Friends 24th Birthday Party. I'm really really excited!!! I didn't think i'd be able to attend Sarah's Shindig, but thanks to Lydia and My Dad it seems like Donald and i might be able to get out a tad bit more and relax without the kids. What a relief that brings.....
This week i go and see my Cardiologist Dr.Park in Peds and we are going to be talking about my pacemaker, how i'm doing post-op ect...yadda yadda yadda, and part of me can't wait. I love going to my Cardio appointments with her, she really understands and listens to me and actually takes what i say to her to heart and doesn't talk to me like i'm a dumb ass or anything of that matter. I'm going to be really sad when the hospital makes me leave her office for good and only be seen by Dr.Srinvatsa in Adult Cardio. I'll blog this weekend most likely about my Cardio appointment and also my OB appointment that i have on Friday, as well as the Partay as well.....So i think that's the jist of our July thus far....
(The photo uploader here on Blogger is really being a pain and not letting me upload ANY pictures that i was planning on. Later on i will either attempt to add the pictures to this blog again and if i can't i'll just do another Photo post like i did one of the last times i was on here.So Yeah...)
